We enjoyed our two nights in this compact and comfortable studio cottage. We could see the herons nesting from our window. The view was inspirational. Maureen and Angus are superb hosts, providing a sumptuous breakfast, and great conversation.

Heron's Rest is an excellent place - has it all, a grizzled ol' sea captain (Angus), and lovely Maureen the poetess. Really knowledgable people who run a great operation.

We couldn't have asked for better hosts - Both Maureen and Angus were absolutely kind, generous with information and with their rain jackets as well. The ensuite room was warm tidy with the usual tea/coffee making facilities and a gorgeous deck. We will certainly recommend Heron's Rest.

Heron's rest was a delightful place to stay, the double room with ensuite was very well presented with everything you would expect in a hotel - it also had a great view. Really enjoyed the breakfasts and interesting to meet some other people travelling at the same time. Excellent value for money and I hope to stay there again.
